Our doctors can tell you immediately during a consultation whether you have cellulite (not to be confused with cellulitis). You can also assess whether you have this condition yourself using the 'pinch test' or the online cellulite self-test. When assessing your skin, please take the following into account:
1. True cellulite / structural cellulite
The dimples are caused by traction of the connective tissue bands (connective tissue strands) on the skin. The accumulation of fat cells under the skin causes poor blood circulation. If you pinch the skin all around (the pinch test), the dimple becomes deeper.
True cellulite can be treated with subcision. This involves cutting through the connective tissue strands using the Cellfina technique. But beware; lipoedema may also be present.
2. False cellulite
Because the skin is thin and/or the subcutaneous fat structure is coarse, you see an irregular surface.
False cellulite can be treated by improving the skin, for example with the Morpheus8 microneedling technique. However, lipoedema may also be present in this case.

When I heard about a treatment for permanently removing cellulite, I was eager to try it. After years of using all kinds of firming creams, my dimples (cellulite) were still there.
For years, I had been bothered by one deep dimple on my right thigh, which really bothered me. The dimple was always visible, especially when wearing a dress or shorts. I also had other smaller and shallower dimples.
In short, I was done with it. I wanted smooth, dimple-free legs for the summer. Fortunately, an appointment was quickly made.
The Cellfina treatment wasn't as bad as I had expected. Afterwards, I was quite bruised. After a week, the bruising had mostly disappeared.
I can now see real results after 3 months. The deep dimple is gone from my skin. I can finally wear a skirt again this summer!
Cellulite is caused by a combination of factors. Smoking and alcohol can aggravate cellulite. Reducing these is recommended. Eat healthy foods, as this promotes blood circulation under the skin. Treatments are available. For example, treatment with manual subcision.
