Anti Cellulite Treatment with Subcision like Cellfina

Cellulite or orange peel refers to the disfiguring dimples in the skin. These give a bumpy appearance to the buttocks and upper legs in particular. Because connective tissue strands pull the skin down like little strings, the appearance of cellulite becomes visible.
If the volume of fat under the skin increases, due to hormonal changes, for example, the appearance may worsen.

Cellulitis is a bacterial infection of the subcutaneous tissue. This inflammation is resolved with an anti-biotic. We can treat cellulite at the clinic with Cellfina. Cellulite is also often called cellulite.

What is a Cellulite treatment?

A cellulite treatment involves loosening the connective tissue strands with the subcutaneous connective tissues. As a result, the skin takes on a less lumpy texture.

The anti cellulite treatment gives the skin a smoother appearance. In addition, it improves blood flow. Liposuction can also reduce cellulite. By removing excess fat, lumpy skin becomes less visible.

Endermology is a treatment method in which the skin is pulled up using a vacuum device. It is a relatively mild method that must be repeated regularly to treat cellulite in low amounts.

Treating Cellulite with Cellfina

Subscision is the loosening of connective tissue strands. There are several manual techniques for cutting these. For cellulite treatment, we use Cellfina equipment, which is a minimally invasive way to treat cellulite.

With Cellfina® we have a standardized technique to perform subscision with the greatest accuracy, in an effective way.

Cellfina is the only treatment that addresses the structural cause of cellulite. The connective tissue strands that pull the skin down causing visible dimples on the surface of the skin are loosened. Result: the skin springs back, the skin surface becomes more even.

Cellulite treatment

Cellulite treatment often refers to Cellulite treatment.

The difference is that cellulite is a medical condition and cellulite refers to the external features on the skin.

What is cellulite?

Cellulitis is a medical condition in which bacterial inflammation develops in the skin and subcutaneous connective tissue. Inflammation leads to various symptoms such as fever, redness of the skin and pain. A cellulite infection is mainly located on the buttocks and (upper) legs.

Cellulite or cellulite treatment?

Once the bacterial infection is resolved or if there is no cellulite, cellulite or cellulite treatment can be done so you can get rid of your cellulite or cellulite quickly.

Cellulite legs / cellulite buttocks / cellulite belly / cellulite thighs

Whether you suffer from cellulite legs, cellulite buttocks, cellulite belly or cellulite thighs, fortunately there is something you can do about it! For convenience, we use the terms cellulite and cellulite interchangeably. Either way, it's about fighting the unsightly dimples that sit in your skin.

The cellfina treatment

By viewing the buttocks and legs from different angles, as many dimples as possible can be seen. These cellulite areas are highlighted for subsequent treatment.

After this, the skin is treated per area of about a palm size with the Cellfina vacuum chamber:

  • The skin is sucked up
  • Anesthetic fluid is injected
  • A vibrating blade is used to very precisely cut the subcutaneous connective tissue strands

Experience Cellulite Treatment

When I heard about a treatment for permanent cellulite removal, I was eager to try it. After years of all kinds of firming ointments, my welts (cellulite) were still there.

I had suffered from 1 deep welt on my right thigh for years, which bothered me immensely. The welt was always visible, especially when wearing a dress shirt or shorts. Furthermore, I had more smaller and shallower welts.

In short, I was done with it. I wanted smooth pitless legs for the summer. Fortunately, an appointment was quickly made.

The Cellfina treatment wasn't too bad. Afterwards I was quite blue. After a week the blue was mostly gone.

I can really see results now after 3 months. The deep pit is gone from my skin. I can finally wear a skirt again this summer!

Do I Have Cellulite?

Whether you have cellulite (not to be confused with cellulite) our doctors can tell you directly during a consultation. You can also assess for yourself whether you suffer from this condition by using the "pinch test" or the online cellulite self-test. While assessing your skin, do keep the following in mind:

1. True cellulite / structural cellulite
The dents or dimples are caused by traction of the connective tissue bands (connective tissue strands) to the skin. If you squeeze the skin all around (the pinch test), the dent gets deeper.
True cellulite can be treated with subscision. This is cutting the connective tissue strands with the Cellfina technique. But beware; there may also be lipedema.

2. False cellulite
Because the skin is thin, and/or the subcutaneous fat structure is coarse, you see an irregular surface.
False cellulite can be treated by improving the skin, for example, with skin improvement with the Morpheus8 microneedling technique. But lipedema can also be involved here.

How do you know if you have cellulite?

By looking at the skin, using the stages of cellulite described below and the 'cellulite pinch test' you can find out for yourself if you have cellulite. We have also developed a Cellulite test to easily answer the question of whether you have cellulite.

We divide the course of cellulite into 3 stages:

  • Light: as soon as you compress the skin, irregularities become visible.
  • Medium: as soon as the skin is tightened, the dents in the skin already become visible.
  • Strong: the orange peel or pits and dents are always visible, often this phase is also accompanied by stretch marks.

Frequently asked questions Cellulite treatment

The procedure takes approximately 90-120 minutes. The exact duration of the treatment depends on the degree of cellulite and the number of pits treated during this Cellfina treatment.

With our Cellfina® treatment, you spend little time recovering. In some patients, the treated areas are initially painful and sensitive, but these symptoms often disappear within a few days. As a result, you can return to work within a few days without discomfort.

After three days you can already see the first improvements. The nice thing is that this skin improvement continues for at least 3 months.

Clinically proven research shows that significant improvement is visible shortly after treatment, with long-lasting results. These results persist for at least three years. These results are expected to be permanent (no longer-term studies are known yet).

Are there any side effects?

No serious side effects have occurred with the Cellfina® treatment. These are also not to be expected given the nature of this anti-cellulite treatment. The most common complaints are slight pain, sensitivity and bruising; these disappear within a short time.

Three days after treatment, patients already rate their pain as minimal. Most feel pain or sensitivity only when touching or pressing on the treated area. This improves quickly and almost all patients have no bruising after four weeks.

Note: Cutting the connective tissue strands to treat cellulite has been done for much longer, the standardized method with Cellfina has been around since 2015.
