Dermatologist with extensive experience in the field of cosmetics and specializing in lipedema

Medical specialist Hajo Bruining has extensive experience in the fields of cosmetic, surgical, plastic surgery, and dermatology. He has been performing general surgery since 2000. In 2003, he was appointed as a cosmetic doctor at the former Dokter Schoemacher Klinieken, now known as Bergman Clinics. He then gained further experience in plastic surgery at the Maxima Medical Center.

In 2004, Dr. Bruining began his training as a dermatologist at the VU Medical Center. During this period, and also afterwards, he continued to study cosmetic treatments. For several years, he worked with Dr. Loek Habbema at the 't Gooi Medical Center. Here, he specialized in tumescent liposculpture, an innovative and refined liposuction technique.

After completing his training, he also worked as a staff physician at the VUMC, where he introduced trainee dermatologists to advanced dermatological surgery and lipofilling. He then gained experience as a dermatologist at the Dermicis Skin Hospital in Haarlem and Alkmaar, now Bergman Clinics, specializing in dermatological surgery.

In 2021, this will be supplemented with a position at the Erasmus Medical Center for the Filler Complication Consultation Hour to resolve complications from old permanent fillers and temporary fillers. He also uses his knowledge in the field of lipofilling and liposuction to improve medical problems (systemic sclerosis, lipoatrophy) with lipofilling, for example.
