When we inject deoxycholinic acid into the fatty tissue of the double chin, it destroys the fat cells located there. Once broken, the fat cells can no longer absorb fat and the volume of the double chin decreases. The treatment of the double chin with Belkyra

The procedure takes an average of 30 minutes, depending on the degree of fullness of the double chin and how many injections it needs to be treated with. After the skin is cleaned with alcohol, the area under the chin is accurately outlined with a skin pencil and an "injection grid" is applied (see images below). The product is then injected into the fatty tissue with a series of punctures.

Preparation double chin treatment

In preparation for treatment to remove your double chin, you will first have a no-obligation consultation with our cosmetic doctor. During the consultation, you will be told that you do not need a surgical procedure with a plastic surgeon to have excess fat removed from your double chin. You can have your double chin removed for permanent results with the Belkyra method.

It is recommended (not required) that you start taking 3 Arnica D6 tablets 4 times daily for 2 weeks prior to the procedure, which reduces bruising. You can stop this again 7 days after the treatment.

  • Where possible, avoid alcohol and blood thinners starting one week before the procedure. Always consult with a doctor beforehand.
  • Do not use body lotion or cream on the area to be treated the night before and on the day of the procedure.
  • You do not need to be sober and fast for the procedure, have breakfast and/or lunch as you are used to.

After treatment - double chin removal

Immediately after treatment, due to the efficacy of deoxycholinic acid, the double chin will swell and become red. As far as pain symptoms occur during the treatment, they disappear quickly by cooling immediately after the injections. Some bruising may also occur. The swelling, redness and bruising disappear after 7-10 days. Your skin is going to recover quickly.

In principle, you can resume your daily activities immediately, the only thing you have to take into account is visibility of the swelling of the double chin. It is recommended to take 2 tablets of 500 mg paracetamol 3 times a day for the first day, then you will be least restricted after the treatment. This is not strictly necessary. The next morning, or the same evening you can shower as usual.

Result treatment - double chin removal

During the first week, the double chin will actually thicken due to the efficacy of deoxycholinic acid. This reaction is necessary to achieve good results. You can see the first improvements after about 2 weeks. After about 6 weeks, the full results of the treatment can be seen. Usually 2 to 3 treatments are needed to achieve the desired result (see image).

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects of Deoxycholinic acid are discomfort, swelling, redness, bruising, hard spots and itching. Most of these side effects are necessary for good results. Less common side effects are post-bleeding or discoloration of the skin. And rare side effects are bald spots (in the beard growth), wounds, hives and temporary paralysis of the nerve that controls the corner of the mouth muscles.
