Restorative interventions and corrections

Dents and bulges can appear in the contour of the body due to various causes. This can be perceived as cosmetically disturbing. It can also be stigmatizing if it has occurred after an accident or illness. Sometimes the loss of subcutaneous fat tissue can even lead to complaints; because the fat cushion between skin and bone has disappeared, pressure (leaning) can cause pain.
By applying liposuction, lipofilling and subscision, we can improve the contour again. Applying liposuction can reduce bumps and possibly reduce a higher area next to a dent.
Lipofilling will be able to fill a dent or defect with your own fat, making it less visible and reducing any complaints due to not enough fat being present under the skin.
With subcision, scar tissue under the skin is loosened. This way, the skin is no longer "held" and pulled down and can then be prevented from growing back in place with the injection of your own fat.
Paradoxical hyperplasia
A fairly recent phenomenon is paradoxical hyperplasia of the adipose tissue. This can occur in rare cases after contour treatment with energy-based devices, and we see it particularly after cryolipolysis (fat freezing) because this treatment method is currently the most widely used.
In paradoxical hyperplasia, we see that several months after treatment, the adipose tissue actually increases in volume instead of decreasing. This is due to a reaction of the adipose tissue to the treatment that is not yet understood by medical science. The thickened adipose tissue feels harder and is often more sensitive than surrounding, "normal" adipose tissue.
Currently, the recommendation is to remove the abnormal adipose tissue in paradoxal hyperplasia by liposuction.
